The Dordogne -  or otherwise known as the Périgord and is divided into four areas:

Green Perigord (Périgord Vert)
With its outstandingly beautiful landscape and unspoilt heritage (watermills, Romanesque churches and medieval villages plus many fairytale chateaux.  The area offers many nature activities such as fishing or hiking.
White Perigord (Périgord Blanc)
With Périgueux as its capital.  Classified as a city of art and history, Périgueux has an exceptional architectural landscape which is more than 2000 years old.
Black Perigord (Périgord Noir)
Between the Vézère valley (valley of humankind), classified as an UNESCO World Heritage with its 15 sites, and the Dordogne valley which has several authentic villages, castles and the fortified medieval city of Sarlat, classified as a city of art and history (77 monuments are protected).
Purple Perigord (Périgord poupre )
Located South-West of the Dordogne area, this area has been named "Périgord Pourpre" for its strong and elegant wines. Country of Bergerac vineyards.

The house is within walking distance of a pretty village with cafés, restaurants and shops, and has river beaches and a swimming lake nearby. Situated in beautiful countryside on the Charente/Dordogne border, the former farmhouse has been carefully restored to provide modern facilities (including new bathrooms and wiring) while retaining its original character. It is very well located for visits to the Bordeaux, Cognac and Bergerac vineyards, as well as caves with prehistoric art, chateaux and the other attractions of the Dordogne valley.

This charming cottage is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty and has the added advantage of being within easy reach of many tourist attractions. Horse racing at Pompadour, the 40 hectare Lake Rouffiac and beach, many magnificent chateaux and numerous pre-historic caves – to name but a few. You can take a stroll each morning to buy your fresh croissants for breakfast at nearby Payzac (half a kilometre away) and maybe have a 5 course lunch (including wine) at one of the village restaurants for as little as 12 euros!!

This lovely modern villa style house is built on 3 floors and to a high standard. The main floor is the middle one, affording magnificent views over the Dordogne countryside.  Outside to the rear is a large terrace which gives sun in the morning and shade in the afternoon. There are a set of steps down to the next terrace and then a further set of steps to the third terrace and pool.

The pool is 10m x 5m. The maximum depth is 2m and minimum 0.9m with roman steps for easy access. It has an alarm and security cover. There is a large shingled area for parking/playing games as well as many flower beds and shrubs giving a countrified feeling, although the town centre is only a 20 minute walk away.

Les Rossignols d'Ancheyra has been tastefully converted to provide a spacious, light and airy 4 bedroomed holiday home. It is located in a quiet rural hamlet and set within 28 acres of private land consisting of meadows, woodland and streams which you can explore at your leisure. The private swimming pool (saline) and surrounding terrace with sun loungers, BBQ area and garden areas overlook unspoilt open views. The pool has an electrically operated security cover, which will support a weight up to 85kgs when closed, it is AFNOR approved, conforming to French statutory requirements.
