The Dordogne -  or otherwise known as the Périgord and is divided into four areas:

Green Perigord (Périgord Vert)
With its outstandingly beautiful landscape and unspoilt heritage (watermills, Romanesque churches and medieval villages plus many fairytale chateaux.  The area offers many nature activities such as fishing or hiking.
White Perigord (Périgord Blanc)
With Périgueux as its capital.  Classified as a city of art and history, Périgueux has an exceptional architectural landscape which is more than 2000 years old.
Black Perigord (Périgord Noir)
Between the Vézère valley (valley of humankind), classified as an UNESCO World Heritage with its 15 sites, and the Dordogne valley which has several authentic villages, castles and the fortified medieval city of Sarlat, classified as a city of art and history (77 monuments are protected).
Purple Perigord (Périgord poupre )
Located South-West of the Dordogne area, this area has been named "Périgord Pourpre" for its strong and elegant wines. Country of Bergerac vineyards.

Le Tilleul is a 100 year old farm cottage, retaining original features including a large stone fireplace with wood-burner and exposed oak timbers in every room.This attractive three bedroom property on the Dordogne/Charente border enjoys a south facing aspect with panoramic views over beautiful rolling countryside. It is one of six holiday cottages sharing large grounds, swimming pool and tennis court. The pretty village of Vanxains is a short walk away with a boulangerie, bar, shop and post office. Idyllic location for walking, cycling, canoeing, horse riding, river and lake beaches, it is just 10 minutes drive from the market town of Riberac and 15 minutes from Aubeterre - officially one of the most picturesque villages of France.

The house is within walking distance of a pretty village with cafés, restaurants and shops, and has river beaches and a swimming lake nearby. Situated in beautiful countryside on the Charente/Dordogne border, the former farmhouse has been carefully restored to provide modern facilities (including new bathrooms and wiring) while retaining its original character. It is very well located for visits to the Bordeaux, Cognac and Bergerac vineyards, as well as caves with prehistoric art, chateaux and the other attractions of the Dordogne valley.

‘Las Chaumas’ is a beautifully restored cottage set in over 4 acres where you can eat alfresco in the evenings on the patio/barbecue area overlooking the garden, listening to the natural stream as it flows down into the river Auvezere. Cool off in the 3mtr diameter plunge pool or amble down to the river at the bottom of the garden and enjoy a spot of fishing in the River Auvezere.

Situated within a short walk to a lively village with all amenities, the cottage is also near to many tourist attratctions such as the 40 hectare Lake Rouffiac with beach and watersports.

This charming cottage is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty and has the added advantage of being within easy reach of many tourist attractions. Horse racing at Pompadour, the 40 hectare Lake Rouffiac and beach, many magnificent chateaux and numerous pre-historic caves – to name but a few. You can take a stroll each morning to buy your fresh croissants for breakfast at nearby Payzac (half a kilometre away) and maybe have a 5 course lunch (including wine) at one of the village restaurants for as little as 12 euros!!

It is located in a quiet rural hamlet and set within 28 acres of private land consisting of meadows, woodland and streams which you can explore at your leisure. The private swimming pool (saline) and surrounding terrace with sun loungers, BBQ area and garden areas overlook unspoilt open views. The pool has an electrically operated security cover, which will support a weight up to 85kgs when closed, it is AFNOR approved, conforming to French statutory requirements.
